Offshore Technology Conference last week

I had the honor of working for the country of UAE, specifically Abu Dabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) last week at the OTC at Reliant. I covered their private and large scale dinners and photographed images at their booth each day of the big show. It was an amazing experience and they showered me with gifts. I'm now published in the Washington Post and major Arabic newspapers!

They pulled up on of the Arabic papers on their phone and my image was there w/Arabic writing all around it. Super cool!

AH! What happened? Oh, the FALL happened...Sept came and then it was magically December. It was an incredible fall and we are rolling right into the new year with high expectations. We are in the process of hiring another portrait photographer and a sales/viewing consultant as well as forming our marketing campaigns for the year. SO exciting everything that's going on and we're only a couple of weeks into January!

We are thrilled to be heading out to Vegas again this year for the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention! I will be training with Kirk Voclain, a seriously awesome photographer of high school seniors and a whole host of other instructors that shoot everything from boudois to pets and weddings.
I am also salivating over the latest Canon camera that has everyone buzzing in our industry. It's the Canon 5D Mark II with video capabilities but is still an SLR so you get to use your variety of lenses to shoot or video. Think about it...not only can I freeze that moment in time for you but now I can record your child speaking or singing or laughing and combine them both in a DVD presentation. FANTASTICO...

We had a ball home in Lafayette with the boys this past weekend! Never got out of the 40s but we toughed it out.
We always visit USL campus with the boys. This is the swamp on the grounds.This was in the hotel that night before we took the pounds of beads off our necks! I bet we have close to 500 beads from just two parades!

We are SO excited to announce that the 2010 website went live this morning! The home page has a flash movie showing off the Best of 2009. It was so hard to select the images that would make the cut.
Happy New Year to you all as well. I realize the blog hasn't been posted to in a while. Once the Christmas season came (Sept, Oct, and Nov for us), I was shooting anywhere from 15-20 sessions a week consistently and my staff was on the ball editing and designing. It was great to see how the children have grown since last year's session.
I am also still recovering from surgery on Dec 1st and 3rd, so it's been a busy season. Glad to have a fresh start to the new year!

What a day last Saturday...even after the cake and flowers were over three hours late! When she walked down the aisle (of the ceremony that had to be moved indoors because of rain), I think everyone breathed a sigh of relief that we had actually made it to this point. These two rolled with the punches and I would work them and their families over and over again.

Before she walked out for family formals, she stopped in the doorway and what a great moment came out of it. She finally had flowers!!!

Yesterday evening felt like old times with this wonderful family! Our oldest children have been in school together for three years now and it's been fun to watch them both grow up. Hannah is precious and I am sure if asked, will let me practice shoot on her anytime...

I recently had the honor of photographing the parents of one of my 08 wedding couples, Jessica and Robert. I knew this would be no ordinary anniversary session. What total fun with these two! Sometimes you wonder why great people float into and out of your lives so quickly...I really enjoyed working with these two. It's extremely rare that I meet the couple only the day before their wedding but that was the case recently. They are such a perfect fit for one another!

Jerri didn't have a wrong image or pose or move or outfit. I am pretty sure it was a stellar session!! Feast your eyes on the first ever images on the antique couch we recently bought AND the first ever images photographed on our outside front lawn at the studio. What a way to begin!

Jerri is so funky and fun. I wish her the best as she heads off to Georgia to study art!
